To Build a Boring Story

Through out the day, his body slowly froze almost to the point of death. The ignorant man didn’t not care that he was out in life threatening weather and maybe that is how he died. His endless journey brought me not to tears but rather to “Z’s” and that is what makes this tragedy so eccentric.
In the horrendous yet story, “To build a Fire” by Jack London, about a man’s emotionless struggle to get to camp in bellow fifty degree weather was probably one of the most boring stories that I have ever read in my life. To start off I would like to point out that I am probably smarter than the man in this story. The stupid mistakes that he made are so obvious that if they were a do they would bite him in the face. In his thrash to get to camp before six; a very un-intelligent man encounters many problems, such as being frozen alive. The man built a fire underneath a tree which was dumb of him because the snow just fell right on top of it and put the fire out so instead he lit all the matches on his hand. This was stupid because he not only burnt his hand but he no longer has any more matched and he will freeze later on in the day. Also just the idea of going out in below fifty alone is probably one of the biggest mistakes that you could ever make. Also in the story the man is lifeless and boring, like when it said “The day had broken cold and gray, exceedingly cold and gray it shows that it was just a grey”, to the man this meant absolutely nothing. It was a gray day and nothing else, he has total lack of emotion. I am sure that all hell would break loose if I had to spend one day with him.
The story probably would have been better if the man acted differently but because it was a tragedy, the character didn’t have much choice. The conflict started when the man took a trip alone in the freezing cold and was not prepared correctly for it. He is making good time and he is stopping to build a fire for lunch and that is the rise to power. The man has many tragic flaws but the big one is that he is so careless, boring, and emotionless. “As he so held it, he became aware of the sensation in his hand” the man was brainless in this part of the story because he has just used all of his matches and he has a burnt hand. When the man’s hands freeze and he is not able to kill the dog for protection is when the tragic fall happen. But the best part of the entire story for me is when the man freezes to death; it may seem rude but I really wanted him to die, and he got what he deserved.
In conclusion to the story, I really hated it and thought that the man needed to learn some new life skills. So unless you like reading boring, long stories, that put you to sleep then I would not recommend this one to you. The tragedy of “How to build a fire” was boring, thoughtless, and annoying.
